Visit Hints
How to Make the Most Out of Your School Visit

  1. Read the book to the younger grades. Kindergarten through first grade especially need to have Multiplying Menace read to them so they can catch onto the multiplication concepts quicker.

  1. Do not read Multiplying Menace to the older grades (2nd – 6th). That will take the fun of the story away from them. Older students love to figure out the multiplication problems as they unfold in the story. If Pam is presenting a math program, please read Princess Peepers to your students. Even 5th graders love this story. (Boys, too!)

  1. Ask the children to have questions ready for the visiting author or go over some questions they might want to know but didn’t think about.

  1. After the visit, go over some of the activities in the teacher’s guide given in the visit packet. Students especially love to write the sequel to Multiplying Menace or Princess Peepers.

    5. If Pam is doing a Princess Peepers presentation, have the children make funky, wacky glasses to wear to the program!

    6. Encourage the students to visit Pam's website and leave her a note on her guestbook at www.pamcalvert.com. They may do this as a class activity.

     7. HAVE FUN!
